The infamous "Father" Brendan Smith , convicted child abuser , died in prison after a heart attack. The cover-up of the Brendan Smith case , involving the Attorney General's Office ,brought down the coalition government of Albert Reynolds and Labour Party leader , Dick Spring in November 1994.

"Father"Fortune from County Wexford accused paedophile committed "suicide" with a mixture of drugs and alcohol just before he was to stand trial on several child abuse charges. Seen here being "warmly " greeted by his holy father.

Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil "Born Again" convicted paedophile Lindsay Brown , was religious Studies teacher at Bangor Grammer School in the Ulster protestant community. Brown has made plans to move to the Irish Republic on his release in August 2001.

The Laffoy Commission will investigate all cases of child and sexual abuse which took place in 59 religious state institutions . Child abuse was and "is" endemic in Irish state run religious institutions which "cared" for orphaned and problem children !
